Mark started writing Zap in September 2021. It has been a long held ambition of his to write a book about the Beatles and their legacy.

In writing this book I want to explore the cultural impact of the Beatles not through a chronological by the numbers account of key events but through the personal stories, observations, reflections and anecdotes that make this bands history and the social history of the sixties such an enduring fascination. Rediscovering the Beatle story again through the eyes of those who were there to witness the rise and fall of the band and the shifting decade, is providing me with a unique insight into the journey and the impact that the Beatles have had on so many of our lives, including my own.

There are some great stories to tell and I hope that in writing this book, I can shed some light on those people whose lives were touched by the band and give light to their own unique part in Beatle history.
